Xtivity layers let you group objects together to both apply actions to the entire group and to organize the content. Groups can clip an object or can be set to non-clipping mode. You can create a clipping area that gives you complete control over what is shown and hidden by moving items into the clipped area during either runtime or author time.

Actions that are applied to a group affect the entire contents of the group. A Transform action, for example, if applied to the group box will transform all children of that group box. Groups make it easy to rapidly control objects in your project.

Special Group Actions can be applied to a group box to make the content in the group box interactive. For example, the action Slideshow can be applied to a group box containing photos. The photos in the group box will begin to play like a slideshow because the parent group box has the slideshow action applied to it. You can add hundreds of photos to the group box and each will automatically play in the order it appears inside the parent group box.
