Create
Beautiful Artwork From A Photograph
You don't have to be a skilled
illustrator to use Painter. One of the most rewarding
things about Painter X is that you can take a normal
photo and enhance it using special cloning brushes.
These special cloning brushes allow you to create
art from photographs by
pulling image details and color from the source
image through the brushes to the destination layer.
You can easily get a simulated painted image.
With a small investment of time on your part you
will quickly be creating gorgeous artwork using
a photo as the basis for your work. Once you have
developed these simple skills, the sky's the limit

Portraits Simulating A Charcoal
Sketching
The
example to the left shows how effective Painter
X is at creating a simulated charcoal sketch of
a portrait. Click on this image to view a larger
version and notice the level of detail possible.
Smudging, blending and shading the charcoal sketch
is an important part of making it look like a hand
drawn creation. Painter X allows you to do all
of this and more with precise control over your
actions.
Painter's powerful brush controls allow you to quickly
change and
adjust brushes to explore the look you get. Using
different levels of opacity, blending, flow controls
and dozens of other options, Painter X has the
best brush system in any software program, including
Photoshop.

Design
Painter's
interface is easy to use and learn. The workflow with Painter X is very much like Photoshop CS3 in that it uses layers, blending modes and allows you to organize your work efficiently. As you explore Painter X you will quickly
see how well designed the interface really is. We personally like how you can test your brush strokes on the Mixer palette then adjust
textures and brush flow to get the precise look
you want before you apply it onto your art layer. Brushing over photos is so cool, we can't say enough about it! |

To Create Compositions
One
of the nicest things about working in Painter is that
you can create your compositions from a sketch you
draw and scan in, or you can take a photo and use
it as the basis for your work. This is helpful as
it enables you to get the correct perspective and
composition while learning to draw.
You can also brush and blend over the photo by taking colors and blending in strokes to create amazing portraits.
An advantage of
using Painter X is seen when you look at how the
brushes allow you to mix the media, colors and brush
strokes. As you are painting in a digital medium you
can easily undo and change your work at will. |
