Edge Highlight Video Length: 5 minutes 46 seconds This training video will show you how to brush on edge highlights to simulate a light source striking your image from different angles and highlighting along the edges of the image. This video will teach you how to setup the effect, apply a masking layer and brush on masks to affect the areas you desire. You will learn how to control the mask and to view the effect while the mask is changed to see a near-real-time result as you brush on the mask.

Ethereal Video Length: 7 minutes 02 seconds This training video will show you how to add a soft diffused lighting to images. You will learn how to apply the ethereal effect through the ellipse controls and how to define the tonal range the ethereal effect draws the light sources from. You will be shown how to change the cast modes to give you a direction control using the different cast types available. Using the protect ellipse you will learn how to shield areas of the image from being changed by this effect.

Fairy Dust Video Length: 9 minutes 23 seconds This training video will show you how to apply the Fairy Dust effect to an image to simulate stars on a night sky. You will learn how to setup an effect and draw with the bezier path tool and stream your content onto this path. You will be shown how to control the different content settings and how to explore with the controls once the effect is rendered onscreen.

Flare Video Length: 7 minutes 24 seconds This training video will show you how to create a flare effect. You will learn how to select different style flares, how to adjust the attributes of a flare to apply rings, glows, streaks and rays. You will also be shown how to use masking to protect parts of your image. In this case the flare that is generated simulates a setting sun partially hidden behind clouds.

Light Brush Video Length: 5 minutes 25 seconds This training video will show you how to brush on light with the Light Brush effect. You will be shown how to gradually add the light using brush settings, control the intensity, blending and other control variations.

Light Brush Used With Shading Brush An additional training example You will also learn how to combine the Light Brush with the Shading Brush and switch between these layered effects to individually control the settings for each effect.

Light Caster Video Length: 4 minutes 29 seconds This training video will show you how to use the Light Caster effect to stream natural looking light across your scene. You will be shown how to adjust the spread, intensity, colors and other controls that change the look of the streaming light.

Mist Video Length: 3 minutes 17 seconds This training video will show you how to brush on simulated mist, smoke, clouds or fog across your image. Using a simple set of brushes and controls you will be taught how to simulate natural looking weather conditions on your image. You will also be shown how to create and work with multiple Mist layers to define individual layer settings to generate the composited end result.

Mottled Background Video Length: 8 minutes 15 seconds This training video will show you how to quickly add a mottled background canvas behind your portraits. You will learn how to add a masking layer and then brush on the mask using the mask brush. Afterwards you will be shown how to shape and change the attributes of the mottled background using the ellipse controls.

Radial Light Caster Video Length: 6 minutes 44 seconds This training video will show you how to apply the Radial Light Caster effect to a masked image to simulate the subject blocking out the sun. You will learn how to load up a mask into Mystical Lighting using the Edit > Load Mask feature. You will also be shown how to simulate blowing snow using the smoke and ellipse controls. Finally you will be shown the Shader effect and how it can enhance the shading to help create a natural shadows that would be preset if the light source were moved to the new location.

Rainbow Video Length: 4 minutes 21 seconds This training video will show you how to add photo-realistic rainbows onto your landscape images. You will learn how to apply the rainbow using both the rainbow bezier path tool and the rainbow shape tool. In this video you will see how to fade the rainbow and change the colors, softness and opacity to form a natural looking rainbow.

Shader Video Length: 3 minutes 52 seconds This training video will show you how to apply the Shader effect to selectively cast new shading and to enhance the natural shading found in a scene. You will learn how to create shading T-paths and control these to direct the size, direction and distance the shading travels across your image. You will also learn how to use the Shade Blocker to protect areas of your image from being shaded.

Shading Brush Video Length: 3 minutes 19 seconds This training video will show you how to use the Shading Brush to apply natural shading to your photographs. You will learn how to blend in the shading to form a realistic result with control over the intensity, blending and opacity of the shading.

Shadow Play Video Length: 3 minutes 36 seconds This training video will show you how to apply shadow shapes across your image. You will learn how to fade out the shadow to simulate it moving away from the light source. You will also learn how to use the Shadow Blocker brush to shield areas of your image from shadows.

Spotlight Video Length: 4 minutes 44 seconds This training video will show you how to apply the Spotlight effect to enhance your images. You will learn how to draw and direct the Spotlight path and adjust the various controls associated with this effect. You will also learn how to darken the image outside the shaft of light to form a photo-realistic lighting effect that adds ambiance to your image.

Spotlight Using Light Mix: Contrasted An additional training example You will also learn how to use the Spotlight effect with the Light Mix: Contrasted settings to stream in a diffused misty light across your scene. You will learn how to use the Light Blocker brush to prevent the light from spilling across areas of the image you want to protect.

Surface Light Video Length: 3 minutes 53 seconds This training video will show you how to cast light through shapes to strike across your image. You will learn how to select and customize the Light Mix modes, block shading and add light using the brush tools. You will also learn how to change the light and shading values to refine the effect.

Surface Light Technique An additional training example In this example you learn how to load up a greyscale content mask and using the Surface Light / Light Mix: Contrasted setting make the image look as if there is a piece of glass between the camera and the subject. The glass appears to be reflecting the background trees.

Wispy Mist Video Length: 2 minutes 57 seconds This training video will show you how to apply a Wispy Mist across your image. You will be shown how to apply the Wispy Mist to the sky to simulate clouds and how to apply the Wispy Mist across the forest areas of the scene.

Applying Masks Video Length: 7 minutes 21 seconds This training video will show you how to take a mask in Photoshop and save it out as a .jpg file that you can import into Mystical Lighting. You will learn how to then apply and adjust masks that are derived from this imported mask. This training video shows the Radial Light Caster and Shader effect being combined with a mask to enhance an underwater scene.

Blowing Out Details Video Length: 3 minutes 03 seconds This training video will show you how to use the Ethereal effect to blow out lighter areas of your image to wash away detail. This is useful for ghosting out sky or lighter areas behind a subject. You will learn how to protect areas of your image and how to blow out the details in the areas around the protected region.

Combining Effect Layers Video Length: 5 minutes 37 seconds This training video will show you how to combine effect layers to enhance the lighting and shading in a surrealistic fantasy scene. The effects used are Light Caster, Light Brush and Shading Brush. This video shows how to form sunlight streaming into a scene using Light Caster and then simulate sunlight striking the subject using the Light Brush. The video shows how to add contrast between the subject and the background using the Shading Brush.

Correction Layer Video Length: 1 minutes 57 seconds This training video will show you how to add a correction layer to adjust the image color, contrast, hue saturation and brightness values. An Ethereal effect is applied in this example to show you how the correction layer adjustments can impact the results given to you by the effect.

Creating Rembrandt Style Shading Video Length: 2 minutes 27 seconds This training video will show you how to create a Rembrandt style shading effect on a photo. You will be shown how to use the Shading Brush and the Shader effect together to cast part of a portrait into shadows.

Edit Menu Video Length: 4 minutes 27 seconds This training video will show you how to use the edit menu to undo and redo commands using the Edit Menu. During this video you will be shown how to take a portrait and add a Shader and a Radial Light Caster effect together with a masking layer to create a Rembrandt style lighting.

You will learn how to place, resize, reshape, rotate and move the ellipse tool. This training video shows loading and saving presets with the Surface Light effect.

Load Mask Video Length: 2 minutes 00 seconds This training video will show you how to load a mask into the program. Masks can be created in other programs and then imported into Mystical Lighting using the Edit > Load Mask command. You will learn how you can modify this mask using the Masking Layer tools.

Masking Layer Video Length: 4 minutes 54 seconds This training video will show you how to add a mask to selectively apply effects or shield areas of your image from having an effect applied to it. In this video you will learn how to use the different masking tools to reveal a mottled background effect to the background of an image. The masking layer is stacked between the effect and the background image.

Memory Dots Video Length: 2 minutes 16 seconds This training video will show you how to capture a snapshot of your effect work as a memory dot and how you can return to the point where you took the snapshot at a later time. This video also shows the memory dots capturing work done in the Radial Light Caster effect.

Multiple Spotlights Video Length: 3 minutes 17 seconds This training video will show you how to use multiple spotlights to selectively light a black and white image. This method simulates pen lighting in a studio to place precise lighting on a subject. You will learn how to create and position the spotlight T-Paths, how to use the Light Blocker brush and the Light Brush together to refine the lighting and shading on the scene.

You will learn how to set AutoUpdate for automatic update downloads, turn on and off tool tips, setup rendering delays for paused effect updating, change the application skin color, desktop colors and textures and more.

T-Path Tool Video Length: 2 minutes 49 seconds This training video will show you how to use the T-Path tool to apply effects. You will learn how to create and direct the T-Path control to direct the effect to apply to the areas you want. You will learn how to control more than one T-Path onscreen and how to position them on the desktop to distance the resulting effect from the image.
